Theoretical background
Various studies have shown that the CPU (Central Processor Unit) of a computer is responsible for 75% of energy (that's why there is such a big fan on top, because of the heat). Various studies also show that the energy increase sharply as the percentage CPU has to do more. Software running on a computer not 'just' for free. This costs extra energy! The more programs are running on a computer, the higher power consumption. The more computers and peripherals used in your household or organization, the higher the energy. Calculated over an entire year is to manage energy consumption is very worthwhile. For that reason, the product ESSaver Energy Software Solutions develops.
